Are You Lost In A Swarm Of Ideas? Get Out And Step Into Peace

Yesterday I was at Starbucks and I was having a grand ol’ time. I was listening to music, dancing in my seat, multiple people asked me what I was so happy about, I was invited to a group of entrepreneurs, I came up with a visual for a client to use to better serve their clients, I came up with ideas about how to serve the world better and then… Crash! Everything just cluttered together and I was lost in a swarm of ideas.

Can any of you relate?

I recognized this clutter and I de-cluttered my mind and the brightest, clearest brilliance came to me. 

What did I do?

It’s simple, but ohhh, the feeling that arrived afterwards.

Here’s what I did:

I put down my pen, I closed my notebook, I minimized all the windows up on my computer and I closed my eyes.

I needed a blank page, a white space to work with.

The easiest way to get that blank page, was to close my eyes, so that I couldn’t see anything at all.

So, here I am in Starbucks with my eyes closed, my back relaxed up against the booth seat.

I start saying these words to myself (not out loud): “My mind is new. My mind is fresh. I innovate. I improve. I make simple. When I open my eyes I will feel like I have the mind of a newborn baby.”

I said these words and really took them in. This process for me took about 2 – 3 minutes.

Once, I opened my eyes I felt like a new person, like a new born baby. I was able to see the world in a whole new way.

I don’t care if this sounds crazy, because it works and hey, I love crazy. Do whatever works for you.

If you feel like your mind is cluttered. If you would just absolutely love some clarity, so that you can do the work you’re meant to do, try this practice out.

For me, it works better when I say the words in my head and not out loud, but depending on your style, you might want to say the words out loud.  You could even listen to music while you do it. Do whatever feels right and natural.

A fresh mind innovates. Get that gunk out of your mind. Refresh your mind, so that you can begin with a fresh canvas.

If you’re reading this right now, I invite you to try this exercise right now. That’s right. Right now. If you’re on the subway or in a cafe, don’t worry. People will just think you’re tired and you need to relax. If they ask though, tell them about this exercise. Share the good news!

I’m sharing this with you because it works. I’m sharing this with you because it is powerful. I struggled and struggled with a mind cluttered with thoughts and ideas.

It wasn’t until I started doing this  exercise that those ideas started making sense. Now I can erase the white board whenever I want and start new. This is so priceless. If you’re anything like me, you need this EVERY day. This will give you more energy and it will feel great.

So, breathe, and try this out. Tweak it according to your preferences. Remember, when you open your eyes you will be a new born baby.

Big, Beautiful News + Something For You

Say Goodbye To Blah Days With These 3 Steps

I’ve been reflecting on this for the past two weeks and now I want to share it with you. Some days I’m on fire and everything is going super smooth. I open up my inbox to see joint venture requests, I solve my client’s pressing problem in a matter of minutes; the day seems magical!

Then there are those days where I can barely squeeze the answer to 2 + 2 out my brain. I know that you can relate to those ON and OFF days. I got fed up with sitting through those OFF days and waiting for them to pass. This is what I discovered…

You can flip the switch! Why waste your day wrapped up in a cloud of nothingness when you can crank up the “ON” switch and get moving!

In the video below, I share with you 3 surefire ways to get your brain kicking in high gear. I also share what you’re probably doing wrong that is causing those OFF days in the first place.

Two Things Your Clients Want

Aha! Let me guess, you’re giving your all in the work you do for your clients, you spend long hours, you send them long, extensive, maybe too extensive, feedback. Your clients are happy, but you want to make them even happier. Plus, on top of that you want your clients to refer you to their friends. You want more clients and you’re ready to up your game.

Are you ready for two tips?

OK! Here’s the first tip: Step – By – Step


Let me ask you this: Is the service that you offer your clients step by step or is it more of big hunk of things that apply to the issue they have?

If I wanted to quite smoking (No, I’m not a smoker, never was.Thank God.), I wouldn’t want to read a million articles, try twenty different products, before I achieved results. I wouldn’t even be able to get through all that junk in order to finally and hopefully achieve my desired result.

If I wanted to quit smoking I would want a step by step proven way to quit smoking that I could start right away.

We often hear marketing materials that say things like, ” Step by step proven ten day system,” “Follow our two week step by step program.” This is because people love step by step.

How does this apply to you and your business?

You may be offering a service right now that is a bit of a “mish mash” of information.

Is there anyway that you could offer this service in a step by step format?

Think about it, would you get better results if someone gave you step by step instructions or if someone gave you a whole bunch of information that you not only had to organize, but information that you had to apply to your situation? What if you had to connect all the dots yourself?

I’ll take the step by step anytime. Although, I do like to play with things myself, I know I would get better results by following the step by step process.

The same might be true for your clients as well.Your clients will probably get better results if you make your service more of a step by step process for them.

Here’s your second tip: Sons and Daughters


While I was walking home today I thought, “My clients are like my sons and daughters. I need to give them everything they need in order to succeed.”

Then I asked myself, “Am I giving them everything that I possibly could for them to succeed.” The answer was of course, “No.” This is a bold statement, but I know that I can give more and I believe that no matter who you serve, you can give more too.

Think of it this way, let’s say that you were going to give the same exact service to your son or daughter. Say for example, that they want to start a business and you help your clients start businesses. If your daughter or son sought you out and asked for your help on this issue, is there anything that you would change for them?

I’m assuming YES! Those are your babies! Of course there is always room for improvement for them!

Here are two questions you can ask yourself now.

1. Take a look at your existing services. If these services are not already in a step by step format, would these services be more effective if you did turn them into step by step? 

2. If tomorrow you started offering your expertise to your children, what would you tweak, add, adjust, improve for them? How would you make it so that they had everything they needed to get whatever they wanted?

Here is what you can do to serve your clients better.

Use questions 1 and 2 above to improve your services. I believe that there is always more to give. If you’re not giving all of your heart, it’s time to step it up. Ask yourself the questions above and consider making adjustments to your business according to your answers. Doing so will allow you to propel yourself forward and propel others forward right alongside with you.  : )

Remember, Step By Step and Sons and Daughters.

One of the roles of a parent is to in fact give your child steps which will help them grow. You help them climb the steps and later on even the mountains! Likewise, help your clients first climb the itty bitty steps, then you’ll get to that point where you’re ready to tackle that mountain and honestly, you might be pretty close already after taking those first, essential, monumental baby steps.

People Pay For Feelings

People pay for feelings. Massages, gourmet food, clothes; we spend money on these things because they make us feel good.

When someone asks you why you bought the latest BMW, you might answer, “Because it has a fast engine and a luxurious interior.” Ultimately though you bought it because it makes you feel good. A more accurate response would sound something like this, “Knowing that I have a fast engine and a luxurious interior makes me feel good.”

I remember my Dad coming home from listening to jazz music one night and saying, “The artists were good, but they played the music in their own style.” My Dad didn’t want to hear a remix of Fly Me To The Moon, he wanted to hear Fly Me To The Moon as he remembered hearing it.

Music that could have resulted in my Dad coming home and raving about his experience, resulted in my Dad coming home and describing a mediocre experience.

My Dad was there that evening to get a certain feeling. I go to jazz bars for the same reason. I am paying to feel a certain way. After all, the quality of our life depends greatly on how we feel. I often thank God for how happy I feel all the time. Good feelings are truly priceless.

What’s the lesson here?

How do you make your clients feel? If you make them feel good, they’ll come back for more.

If you’re reading this and saying to yourself, “I’ve got this down, I make my customers happy”, then you need to ask yourself this:

Am I solving the problem that this client came to me with? Let’s say for example that your client came to you because they needed you to help them learn how to gain more clients. Has your client gained more clients as a direct effect of the advice and guidance that you gave them?

Good feelings are wonderful and essential, but don’t forget about the results.

Here is a simple, but priceless equation.
